What is a recurring donation?
A recurring donation is a pre-authorized arrangement in which a donor authorizes the Montgomery College Foundation to make a donation against a specific credit card account, for a specified donation amount, for a specified period of time. At this time, donors can set up monthly recurring donations.
How do I set up a recurring donation?
Setting up a recurring donation is easy. Once you have entered your personal information, you will be transferred to our secure, online giving site. Follow these 4 steps:
- On the "Please enter a donation amount" screen, enter the amount you would like to donate monthly, and select "Yes" when asked whether you would like to make a recurring donation.
- Next you will be asked to enter your credit card information.
- On the "Please tell us when and how often you would like to pay" screen, verify the amount of the donation and the frequency of the donation (e.g. monthly). Then select the date on which each monthly payment will occur and the date of the last payment (i.e. start and end dates).
Example: If your amount is $20, and your payment date is 1/15/2012, and you enter 4/01/2012 as the end payment schedule date, you will be charged 3 payments of $20 on the 15th of January, February and March 2012. The number of donations is automatically calculated by the "Date of First Payment" and "End of Payment Schedule" dates.
- On the "Verify Your Payment Information" screen, the total amount of the recurring donations, the amount and frequency of each donation and the payment schedule will be displayed. Review the information and make any changes via the link "Change Payment Schedule".
Once the transaction is verified and submitted, you will receive an email summarizing the amount, payment schedule, etc. for your records. You will receive an email confirmation after each scheduled payment on your payment schedule.
